We like to notify you of a new development regarding open-source software for dynamic simulation of power systems – PowerDynamics.jl
The goal is an open-source, high-performance, modular and hackable power grid modeling and simulation environment for researchers and advanced users. It is build on the Julia SciML ecosystem to achieve equation based modeling, automatic differentiation (and thus sophisticated Machine Learning) support, and parallelization (CPU and experimental GPU).
The work is currently funded by BMWE in the OpPoDyn project (https://lnkd.in/eVYh2A3U). Work on the simulation and modeling backend capabilities is now complete.
The focus for the coming years will be to make the software useful to researchers, expand our model library, improve performance, and use it in (research) practice. The team is open to collaborations, feel free to contact them if you feel this software might be useful to you.
