On June 2025 the first IREDonline, held under the theme “Resilience and Stability in Power Systems with Very High Shares of Renewable Energy Sources,” brought together leading experts from around the world to explore how modern power systems can remain stable and reliable while transitioning toward high shares of renewable energy.

Organized by DERlab, the two-day online conference marked the beginning of a new series of digital events aimed at advancing global knowledge exchange in the field of distributed energy resources and smart grid integration.

Dr. Philipp Strauß, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee and Spokesperson for the organizer, DERlab e. V. in Kassel, emphasized the immense value of this global exchange, particularly in discussions aimed at preventing blackouts.

Speakers from North America, Europe, Asia and Australia contributed to a dynamic and interactive program that featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions and a hands-on workshop. Core topics included system stability, demand-side flexibility, inverter-based grid control, energy storage integration and microgrid deployment.
