International Journal of Distributed Energy Resources

The International Journal of Distributed Energy Resources is a scholarly peer-reviewed archival Journal. It publishes experimental, theoretical and applied results in both science and engineering for distributed energy resources in electrical grids. A thorough peer-review of each paper is performed by at least two independent experts for the special topics addressed.

European Research Projects

  • IRED
  • "Integration of Renewable Energy Sources and Distributed Generation into the European Electricity Grid"
A large European Cluster of RTD projects funded by the European Commission which represents over 100 stakeholders in the electricity networks sector.

  • DISPOWER
  • The project DISPOWER has significantly contributed to the further development of technology as well as to the European exchange of experience in the field of integrating small and distributed generators into the electricity distribution grid.

  • FENIX
  • Enabling Distributed Energy Resources (DER) to make the EU electricity supply system cost efficient, secure and sustainable through aggregation into Large Scale Virtual Power Plants (LSVPP).

  • MORE MICROGRIDS
  • Microgrids comprise Low Voltage distribution systems with distributed energy sources, storage devices and controllable loads, operated connected to the main power network or islanded, in a controlled, coordinated way.

  • SOLID-DER
  • The project SOLID-DER, a Coordination Action, will assess the barriers for further integration of DER, overcome both the lack of awareness of benefits of DER solutions and fragmentation in EU R&D results by consolidating all European DER research activities and report on its common findings.

  • CRISP
  • The CRISP project aims to investigate, develop and test how latest advanced intelligence by ICT technologies can be exploited in a novel way for cost-effective, fine-grained and reliable monitoring, management and control of power networks that have a high degree of Distributed Generation and RES penetration.

  • EU-DEEP
  • Since January 2004, the R&D teams of eight European energy utilities have joined to develop transparent and efficient business models that will enable, from 2010 on, the operation of various types of Distributed Energy Resources (DER).

Standardisation Organisations

  • CENELEC
European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization Comitè Europèen
    de Normalisation Electrotechnique
    (Europäisches Komitee für elektrotechnische Normung)
  • IEC
    International Engineering Consortium
  • CIGRE
International Council of Large Electric Systems
